The pH-Down Powder, chemically inactive in its delivered state, only exerts its acidic effect after being mixed with water. pH correction is a primary task for indoor gardeners. When pH is properly adjusted, minerals become available to plants, and chelates remain stable.

In addition to its core pH control function, pH-Down Powder (highly concentrated) is also used for cleaning and disinfecting pipes and other system components. It serves as a leaf spray (diluted) to remove pesticide residues and functions as a booster, supplying plants with the following nutrients:

• Nitrates in a formulation that supports growth without compromising flowering,
• Phosphates to enhance flowering, strengthen roots, promote lush leaves, and support even growth.

Nothing benefits plants as much as an optimal pH level. A high pH promotes cation uptake, while a low pH facilitates anion uptake; the chosen value is always a compromise between two extremes. Typically, a range of 5.5 to 6.5 is recommended. We advise aiming for a value in the lower range of 5.5 to a maximum of 6.2.

Application of pH-Down Powder

Caution: Always wear appropriate protective clothing when handling strong acids/bases. To measure the pH level, use the pH Test Kit.

• Lowering pH of Nutrient Solutions: Add 1g to 5 to 6 liters of water and mix well. Measure the pH level and adjust if necessary with the appropriate amount of pH-Down or fresh water.
• Cleaning Pipes and System Components: Use 1g per liter of water, allow the system to run overnight, and then thoroughly rinse with water.
• As a Leaf Cleaner: Use 1g for 10 liters of water.
